Hi !
My mom has an amazing Great Dane named Oliver ( Ollie ). Ollie has always been special, but for the last five years he has been a certified Therapy Dog through a national company called Alliance of Therapy Dogs. He does a lot in our community from being an involved with a veterans organization to visiting nursing homes and schools to being a regular at the library for therapy dog days. Ollie's future goals include possibly getting involved with therapy dogs that attend to disaster victims or dogs in court rooms to help victims testify. On Monday, June 3rd Ollie was rushed to Cornell Animal Hospital with a condition known as Bloat, or Gastric Torsion. His stomach had twisted which required emergency surgery. Ollie made it through surgery but had a couple complications after resulting in a 4 day hospital stay and many meds. Ollie is home now, and recovering eager to get back to Therapy Dog work.
The 4 day stay and surgery resulted in a rather large bill for my mom and step-dad even with applying for aid, insurance and maxing out the Care Credit.
So we reaching out for assistance. Our goal amount is $3500 ( the total was double that) just enough to take some stress off the maxed out Care Credit bill in case of future emergencies. So any funds donated would go toward that as they use Care Credit exclusively for the animals.
Ollie is a local celebrity in his little town and we know he is loved by many, we are happy he is still here to bring joy to the people he visits.
Thank you for reading our story and if you can't donate please share~
