Ollie is our 11 year old Dutch Shepherd and he is the best boy ever. He has been a demo dog for countless grooming students and has helped many people learn over the years with his sweet, gentle nature. His favorite thing in the entire world is to love and be loved by every single living thing. He has the biggest heart of any dog I’ve ever met.

however, his biggest attribute has now become his downfall. Tonight we rushed Ollie to the ER because he was panting heavily and seemed lethargic. It turns out that he had fluid around his heart, with the cause likely being a mass. He was rushed into a chest tap procedure to drain the fluid and stabilize him, and he is currently being hospitalized to continue monitoring him and to see if the fluid returns. The next 24 hours are going to be critical for his prognosis.

if you’ve followed Adin and I over the last year, you already know that life has continually kicked us in the ass over and over and over again. We lost our cat to lung cancer with almost this identical situation with fluid in her chest not even 6 months ago. My heart is absolutely breaking for Ollie right now, but he means so much to us and to everyone who has ever met him, so I want to give him a fighting chance. My circumstances are different this time around, in that I have access to specialty doctors like cardiologists and oncologists that I unfortunately didn’t have access to with Annabelle that I am hoping I can enlist, if needed. Any contributions towards at least Ollie’s emergency bill from tonight and hopefully ongoing care would be greatly appreciated. At the moment, our current estimate is around $3k, which I’ll post below for transparency.
