Displacement and Recovery Following House Fire
Donation protected
On February 17th, our home caught fire in the basement. Thankfully, the flames were controlled before reaching our living space (minus some fire climbing up the rafters), but the damage caused by the firefighters' efforts to contain the fire was significant. Now, we are facing the reality of being displaced, unsure when we will be able to return home or to work (but it is looking like it'll be at least 2 months or more). I have some wonderful friends who are letting me stay with them, but the expenses of school and bills on top of the expenses surrounding this circumstance feel overwhelming.
Amidst the chaos, my beloved cat has gone missing. She is my heart, and I’m doing everything I can to find her. Expanding my search efforts and resources is a top priority, but the unexpected costs of this situation are quickly adding up.
So many kind souls have reached out, asking how they can help. Honestly, your prayers and well wishes mean the world to me, and they are truly enough. I know some of you have asked how else you can help, so I figured this would be a good way. If anyone feels led to offer financial support, I would be beyond grateful. Any funds raised will go toward stabilizing my and my roommates lives, covering essentials, and getting us through this next few months.
This has been overwhelming, but I am holding onto hope, and I know I am surrounded by so much love. Thank you for reading, for caring, and for any support you can offer.
With love and gratitude,
Olivia
