Dear Friends,

This summer, I have an exciting opportunity to serve on a 6-week internship in Kenya. I will be working in two communities, Katito and Kandaria. Through God’s grace and provision over the last 16 years my home church, Grace Community Church has been able to assist in bringing clean water and a medical center to Kandaria, and assisted in establishing a church, school, and children’s home in Katito. We have also distributed thousands of Bibles and shared the Good News of Jesus, seeing many Kenyans come to Christ. I will be specifically working with House of Hope, a ministry to widows and orphans. I will have the opportunity to work in many different schools, the House of Hope Chapel and boarding school, and ultimately use my gifts and talents in various ways to share the good news of Christ.

I believe the Lord is calling me specifically to use my gifts in leadership and teaching to help lead the Kenyan students and women closer to Jesus. Growing up with a strong Christian faith, my background has given me many different opportunities to grow in my faith has allowed me to become the devoted believer I am today. I pray that through this time over the summer, I will be able to offer these same opportunities to the Kenyan students. Whether this is by teaching a bible class in the different schools, leading a girls bible study, discipleship, or doing evangelism in the community and home visits, I believe the Lord has a divine plan to use me in this community. Lord willing, I will also be able to assist with a college outreach event for young adults during their school break.

I believe that the Lord has gifted me the opportunity to use my current stage in life to help connect with this specific group of individuals. Currently, I am studying and about to graduate with a master's degree in Global Studies with a Humanitarian Aid focus from Liberty University. I also was able to attain an undergraduate degree in Christian Leadership and Church Ministries with a focus in Women’s Ministries. The Lord has blessed me with a passion to do missions and spread the gospel globally. By returning to Kenya again, the Lord is providing me an opportunity to grow these skills through the relationships that I have already built. I pray that my God-given gifts will be able to be used in encouraging this community and to show them the love and hope of Christ.
