Join Olivia in the Battle Against Breast Cancer

Olivia and I have been friends for almost 20 years. In that time we’ve experienced every season of life alongside one another…and the one thing that has always maintained us has been a solid foundation of unwavering friendship, loyalty, love, and support.

Last month, Olivia was diagnosed with breast cancer. She’s since learned that she has two types, both invasive and non-invasive, that will inevitably require extensive medical and surgical intervention. As you can imagine, this news has been devastating, and carries along with it an enormous amount of physical and financial uncertainties. In the overwhelming attempt to wrap my head around this reality, I’m reminded that this is not Olivia’s first cancer diagnosis..making it all the more difficult to process. As some may know, a few years back Olivia faced a similar circumstance which also resulted in the need for surgery, a loss of wages, and time for physical and emotional recovery. This battle was fought largely in private due to the nature of who she is as a person, and her reluctance to share the weight of such a burden.

In times of hardship it’s never easy to ask for help. But to know Olivia is to know the definition of a true friend; one who is kind, generous, supportive, and impeccably loyal to those close to her heart. Olivia’s friends are her family. This is a fact that has held true in all the years I’ve known her. I have no doubt that across her wide circle of loved ones spanning from New York to Philly, Texas to L.A. and beyond, and throughout her lifelong presence in the NY/PA hardcore scene, anyone who has met her can attest to this truth. And right now she needs her family.

It is my hope that this relief fund will help support Olivia and lessen the burden of stress she will face over the next few months, as she will be out of work indefinitely. A donation of any amount will go directly toward the maintenance of basic necessities, medical expenses not covered by insurance, and the preservation of her livelihood; all of which will be hugely impacted throughout this journey.
