On April 2, 2025, Olivia was diagnosed with grade 3 astrocytoma. The tumor had grown significantly and she was rushed into emergency brain surgery that same weekend. Olivia is now out of the ICU and is undergoing both aggressive radiation and chemotherapy treatments. We are extremely optimistic that these treatments will be successful.

Olivia celebrated her 23rd birthday last Thursday. She has been the most positive person during this tremendous challenge with her family’s love and support. The financial burden may interfere with her recovery so the goal is to relieve that burden so that she may focus on her health and recovery.

At the time of her diagnosis, Olivia was working and living in Florida. She has since had to break her lease and relocate home for ongoing treatment. With frequent medical appointments and intensive care needs, working is a challenge.

The funds raised will help cover the costs associated with her unexpected move, medical travel, and the expenses incurred while her family remained by her side in the ICU in Florida. It will also support her treatments not covered by insurance.

Olivia has been a beloved member of the Martha’s Vineyard community since she was 15, working summers along the Oak Bluffs harbor. She's someone who has always shown up for others and now we have the opportunity to show up for her. Every contribution helps — no matter the size.
