Support Olivia in Her Fight For Her Life ❤️
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hannah, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for support for my family and my beautiful baby sister, Olivia, who has been fighting for her life over the past week.
Olivia is just 21 months old — the light of our lives. She’s bright, bubbly, full of joy, and always manages to bring a smile to your face, even on your worst days. She’s the cherished youngest sister to me and our other sister, Clare, and she means the absolute world to us.
In just over a month, Olivia has faced more than any little one should. She has been in and out of hospitals battling various illnesses, including para-influenza and the common cold. Despite everything, she fought through — until things took a sudden and terrifying turn.
On Thursday, July 3rd, Olivia was rushed to the emergency department and tested positive for RSV. She was struggling to breathe, with fevers soaring above 40°C. By Saturday morning, her condition rapidly deteriorated in just 15 minutes. Our sweet Olivia was moved to the ICU, placed on a ventilator, and has since been diagnosed with viral pneumonia in both lungs, and multiple bacterial infections. She is now in the fight of her life.
Since then, she has remained on a ventilator, enduring more downs than ups. Her recovery is expected to be long, uncertain, and incredibly tough. Every day, our parents sit by her side, refusing to leave her alone in this fight. As you can imagine, our family’s entire world has stopped to be there for her.
In the midst of this crisis, our stepdad has lost his job due to the time needed at the hospital, and our mum has not been able to return to work — her place is with Olivia right now. Financial stress is becoming a very real burden, on top of the emotional toll.
Some of you may have seen Olivia’s story shared in the media to raise awareness about the importance of vaccinations and the real dangers of preventable illnesses. Our hope is that her story continues to raise awareness — not just about RSV and other viruses, but about how quickly life can change.
We are taking each day as it comes. This GoFundMe is not just about asking for help — though anything you can offer is appreciated more than words can say — it’s also about sharing Olivia’s story. About reminding people to take care of themselves and each other. About showing the true impact of these illnesses on families like ours.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for keeping Olivia in your thoughts. Please hug your loved ones a little tighter today.
