I am so excited! Thank you again for all of your support. Just a week and a half and I’m off to Washington DC. I am most excited about touring the White House, the Capitol Building and the Supreme Court. I’ve been walking on my mom’s treadmill daily in training for our long days walking around on this trip.

With only one month left before I leave to DC with my friends and teacher, this is my final fundraising push. I recently sold strawberries plant starts with great success. My can drive has been good too thanks to my Tutu and neighbor, Gale. Christmas tree recycling was by far my best fundraiser. Nevertheless, I’m still short $500 of my goal to cover half the cost of this amazing trip through my efforts. I’d really appreciate your support in this final month. Thank you, Olive!!!

Hi, I´m Olive and I´m finishing 8th grade this year. Good bye middle school and hello high school. Traditionally students from my middle school, who have wanted to, have gone on an 8th grade trip to Washington, DC. Up until recently the PTA and school has sponsored fundraisers for this trip and allowed students to use the PTA´s tax ID number to get donations. That changed with COVID and our school pivoted to a closer cheaper trip to Seattle, WA. The PTA no longer allows the Washington, DC trip to use its fundraising capacity so not to interfere with students fundraising to go Seattle. This has made fundraising for students who would prefer the educational experience of a trip to Washington, DC extremely hard. Luckily we still have a few committed teachers who continue to organize the DC trip and try their best to help us fundraise. I have had some success with wreath sales and did really well with recycling Christmas trees. Thank you to everyone who supported me in both those fundraisers. I continue to look for fundraising avenues but have come up rather empty handed, so I now turn to gofundme in hopes of meeting my goal. The total cost of my trip is $3000 not including spending money and so far I have raised almost $1000. With only three and a half more months to go I would really appreciate your support.
