Support Oliver's Year-Long Cancer Battle
Donation protected
As many of you know, 9-year-old Oliver was recently diagnosed with a rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. He has just started treatment, which will include a year of chemotherapy, as well as 5-6 weeks of radiation in Boston, MA, this summer, as Oliver’s treatment plan requires specialized radiation therapy only available out of state.
Maya and Nacho have chosen Boston, MA for this specific type of Proton Beam radiation. This means frequent flights, temporary housing, meals away from home, and countless days off work for his parents, Maya and Nacho. His brothers, Luca and Nico, are also navigating this difficult time, trying to cope with the many changes in their family life.
While Maya and Nacho are still getting their arms around what the next year will look like and what they will need from all of us, what we do know is that this will be an expensive marathon.
They are looking into grants and other potential funding for expenses that aren't covered by insurance, but it is already very clear that there will be many expenses that will not be covered.
Since many of you have asked how to help, we are reaching out for your support. Your donation will go directly towards:
~ Flights for Oliver and his family to access life-saving treatment
~ Temporary housing close to the hospital
~ Meals and daily living expenses while away from home
~ Childcare for Luca and Nico
~ Potential lost wages from time taken off work to care for Oliver
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference in helping Oliver and his family stay focused on Oliver’s healing. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing Oliver’s story with others. Your prayers, words of encouragement, and support mean the world to us.
Thank you for your tremendous support for Oliver, Maya, Nacho, Luca, and Nico during this incredibly challenging time.
