Support Oliver's Urgent Veterinary Care

My poor little Oliver got sick several times, about 2 or 3 times every hour, and had loose bloody stools starting at 10:30 pm Monday night through 8 am Tuesday morning. We got him in to see the vet, and they did x-rays and thought he had an obstruction of some kind in his intestines. They transported him to a neighboring veterinary medical center for him to have surgery to find the problem. After doing exploratory surgery, they realized there wasn't an actual physical blockage but that he has functional ileus, also known as paralytic ileus. The condition is a temporary lack of normal intestinal motility, meaning the intestines aren't moving food and waste properly through the digestive tract. It's a problem with the muscles and nerves involved in moving the contents along.

Right now, he is being fed a liquid diet through a tube in his nose, and they are giving him some medication that is supposed to help with his intestinal muscles returning to normal.

So far, he has spent two nights being hospitalized with IV fluids for the extreme dehydration he experienced. This morning, they tried to get him to eat, but he wouldn't, so they are feeding him again with the tube through his nose. Soon after that, he managed to pull the tube from his nose, so they had to sedate him again to reinsert the tube.

As you can imagine, veterinary care and hospitalization is very costly. If anyone could feel it in their heart to please help donate to his medical bills, it would be greatly appreciated. I want my little guy back home in my arms. I love him so much!
