Dear Friends,
My name is Anita Mziray, sister to Oliver Mziray, whose picture is posted. I am here to seek your help, to help us clear an outstanding medical bill (30,000 USD) from Oliver’s illness, and allow our beloved, unfortunately now late brother’s body to be released, for final send off.
For the past few months, Oliver battled liver disease, a fight that ultimately progressed to liver failure. Despite our deepest hopes and prayers for his recovery, he succumbed to his illness, leaving a void in our hearts that words cannot fill.
You see, I am the eldest of three and Oliver is my immediate follower.Growing up, we were very inseparable, doing literally everything together. We have cried together, laughed together, literally grown up together as best friends. We had so many dreams of what we imagined the future would be and how we would be there for each other. As I type this, I am in a very somber and nostalgic mood, and it’s slowly dawning to me that none of this will ever be true. I will never get to hug my brother again, let alone, hear his voice.

When Oliver’s sickness commenced, we never imagined it would be this big. In fact, we talked often and he always assured me he was on his way to full recovery. My brother fought and fought and fought. Soon after, his liver slowly started to fail. This resulted in other symptoms that subjected him to so much pain. Of the many things he had to fight, was the excessive fluid accumulation in his stomach, a condition that worsened and required manual removal of these fluids( paracentesis). This was the first time we started getting concerned about the magnitude of his condition. He was barely eating, had so much pain, and among other symptoms, had quite a huge amount of fluid accumulation, which got worse over time. Before we knew it, Liver transplant became the only option and, when then doctors recommended liver transplant, I didn’t think twice. In fact, I had just matched and we were in the process of getting everything in place for his transplant. I tried all I could, my family equally tried all they could but yet here we are. Fam, we saw our happy, charming and very strong brother’s health deteriorating, to his last breath. He really fought a very good fight even in his ICU bed. Unfortunately, he rested.
I wish this was a bad dream but it’s not. We are here, very financially drained from his hospital stay, and the sad thing is, our Oliver is no more. As if that is not enough, his medical bill accrued way more than we could manage. We are desperately doing all we can to help us take care of the bill and give my brother a great send off. I am here, we are here, humbly seeking your help.
In summary, during his final days, Oliver was admitted to the ICU at The Mombasa Hospital in Kenya, where he received round-the-clock care. However, his stay in the ICU has left our family with an overwhelming medical bill. As we begin to process the grief of losing Oliver, we are also faced with the harsh reality that we cannot lay him to rest until this financial burden is cleared. Basically, they won’t release the body to us until we clear the medical bill currently at 30,000 USD.
We are reaching out today with humility and heavy hearts, asking for your help during this incredibly difficult time. Your support, whether through prayers, shares, or donations, would be a tremendous relief for our family. It would not only ease the financial strain but also allow us the space to mourn and honor Oliver’s memory with the dignity and love he deserves.
Please consider contributing to help us give Oliver the peaceful and respectful send-off he so greatly deserves. Any amount, no matter how small, will bring us one step closer to closure and healing. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and compassion during this time of deep sorrow.
With sincere gratitude,
Anita Mziray
