Hello Friends, Family, and all others who may be seeing this page:
Help us give Oliver a chance back to his normal life
My name is Bradley and my girlfriend Chelsea and I are reaching out for help with our dog Oliver. He has recently been diagnosed with IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) and is unable to be his usual happy self. His painful condition is causing neurological damage to his rear legs, making it so he can no longer stand up and walk around, and requires constant medication to alliviate his pain and inflamation. In his current condition, he is going to have a potentially long and difficult road to recovery.
Oliver is Chelsea and I's first pet together, so to us, he is a part of our family who we would do anything to give him a chance to be healthy and back to his normal self. We adopted him from the shelter when he was five years old and simply wanted to offer him the best life possible, in return, he gave us our best lives possible too. It is truely heartbreaking to see his confusion and pain when trying to move around without control of his rear legs. He has always been a playful companion that has loved us as much as we've loved him. Now that he is struggling, we are doing our best to give him the treatment he deserves so he can have the best chance to heal and return to the happy carefree dog he once was.
We are in the process of exploring vetranary refrences in the neurological field to perform MRI/CT scans and potential surgery to take out his affected/ruptured disc. This hopefully will alliviate his pain and restore neurolgical function to his hind legs so he may walk again.
These procedures, while costly and have potential risks, may be the best courses of action to help our baby get better. Every dollar of your donation will go directly to Oliver's medical care and physical therapy to help him find his strength to walk and create a chance for him to be better. It will also help us alleviate some of the financial stress that we have experienced so far for his emergency vet visits, medications, and new equipment that we have bought him to help him adjust to his life as an immobile pet.
I know and understand that times are busy and tough for many, but if you are able to contribute in any way, whether that be donation, sharing this link, or any information/resources that may help, our family would be immensely grateful. I know with all of our efforts, Oliver can recover to where he is comfortable once again. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and your consideration. We value everyones kind thoughts and help through this tough time and please use this as awareness for IVDD, your dog's health, and safety if they are longer in shape and constantly jump up and down from high places.
Love,
Bradley, Chelsea, and Oliver
