Our beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-aunt, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Olga Marie McClendon, passed away after a long and love-filled life. Olga was a woman of deep faith, compassion, and strength. She raised four daughters, survived three of them, and leaves behind a legacy of 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Olga spent her final years in Wellsville, Kansas, lovingly cared for by her husband Ken Warren, her daughter Linda, son-in-law James Blecher, and grandkids Jimmy & Heather. She was a pillar of her family and community, serving in ministry and always opening her heart to those in need.
If you have ever ordered a meal with Olga, you know she had particular tastes and desires. :-) Olga had many requests for her final sendoff and we have done our best to follow all of her wishes, which includes being buried next to her other family members in Missouri.
Many wonderful family members have asked if they can help to chip in to make the financial impact less ...impressive... to dad's checking account. A couple of my aunts and uncles asked me to setup this go fund me to provide a place for these contributions to be gathered. We are raising funds to help cover funeral expenses and honor Olga’s memory in a way that reflects the love she gave so freely. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us all give her the farewell she requested.
Note: When you contribute on a Go Fund Me, there is typically an automatic "tip" or "contribution" to the platform taken from your donation. To avoid that, just click "Custom contribution" and slide the amount down to zero. To avoid this hassle entirely, My dad has told me that if anyone wants to just donate directly to him to help cover the expenses (they are approximately $15,000 for the service and burial), simply call him or text him and he'll give instructions on how best to do that. If you need his number, please message me. We will also have a box setup for cards and contributions on the day if hand delivery is the easiest method.
My facebook reach isn't as big as Grandma's family so if you can share this link, I'd greatly appreciate it!
We'd also love as many people who loved Grandma to show up for her service. I'm not 100% positive of the time, so I posted a two hour range and will come back and update if I get more specific information. I know the place and the date and I know it's in the morning so that's a good start! I also plan to be providing some food for an after gathering and will add more information to my facebook page as details start to firm up.
Thank you for anything you can chip in to help my dad and Grandma's children and sons in law with honoring Grandma's final sendoff wishes. May God richly bless you!
Sherry
