In Loving Memory of Olea.
The world lost a radiant soul in the early hours of Sunday morning, 4/14/24. Olea T. Hicks, a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend, left us at the tender age of 19.
To her family, Olea was more than just a relative; she was a source of joy and a beacon of kindness. Her laughter was infectious, and her smile could light up the darkest rooms. To her friends, she was a confidant, a source of laughter, and an endless reservoir of compassion.
Olea graduated from MacArthur High School in 2023. She was nominated in her prom court and was a decorated track star and basketball player. She loved anime, gaming, drawing, and painting with her friends. Olea’s ambitions were as vast as her heart. She was a published author of short stories and dreamed of becoming a forensic pathologist.
The sudden loss of Olea has left a void in the hearts of those who knew her. As we come together to mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she led. In her 19 years, Olea taught us the importance of kindness, community, and the power of love…period. (As she would say)
In memory of Olea, her mother, Umesha Cooper, and Father David Hicks, along with her family, are establishing a fund that will serve as a beacon of her legacy. We humbly invite you to join us in honoring Olea’s memory.
Your contributions will help keep her legacy alive and provide much-needed support to her family during this challenging time. We sincerely appreciate your presence and support as we come together to celebrate a life that, though brief, was immensely meaningful and profoundly impactful.
Her wake was held in her hometown on Tuesday April 23 with her burial service on Wednesday, April 24th.
We miss you, Olea. Your light will forever shine in our hearts.
