Support Olaf's Life-Saving Surgery Journey

Hello, I’m raising funds for my beloved dog (and best friend) Olaf. He is a 12 year old yorkie whom I’ve had the absolute privilege of caring for over the past ten years. He has been having health issues since around this time last year and I have spent a substantial amount trying to figure out what is causing his issues. He has been presenting with extremely high white blood cell counts, amongst other symptoms. After seeing an internal medicine specialist to get an ultrasound he was diagnosed with a 1 cm sized tumor towards the back of his stomach, in the area where the stomach attaches to the intestines. This tumor must be removed as if left to grow it would eventually impede his ability to digest food. I consulted with a non-specialty vet to see if this surgery could be performed for a more affordable price and unfortunately they are not able to do it. It must be done by a speciality hospital and specially trained surgeon. I unfortunately cannot afford to cover the surgery myself so I’m making this fundraiser to save his life. He can live many more years after receiving this surgery. Olaf is my best friend, my reason for getting out of bed in the morning, I genuinely view him as the love of my life. He means everything to me. He’s an incredibly good boy who loves my small nieces and always tolerates their affection and playing. Giving nose kisses to everybody his little tongue can reach. I’m always being told how good he behaves and what a joy he is to work with as a patient when receiving vet care or being groomed. His origins are a bit murky as he was rescued off craigslist from hours away at approximately 2 years old. He was 2lb underweight, not fixed and desperately needed to be groomed. It was love at first sight for me. I immediately go to work getting him healthy and happy. In return he has given me (and so many others) unconditional love. As somebody who struggles deeply with social interactions due to autism he has been there to comfort me through many, many meltdowns and painfully lonely times. I don’t know what I would do or where I would be today without him.
