My name is Daniel Regg and I am currently a Police Officer with the City of Peekskill Police Department in Westchester County, New York. I have been a Police Officer for 8 1/2 years with no disciplinary history. I have an exemplary record with three life savings awards throughout my career.

I was involved in a Use of Force incident in the City of Peekskill involving a male that was naked from the waist down in a public park with people around and under the influence of suspected PCP on December 3, 2025 based on training and experience. The male threatened to kill me and violently resisted arrest and was only subdued when several additional Officers arrived on scene. The City of Peekskill Police Department and The City of Peekskill are attempting to wrongfully terminate me for this incident. My Department has recently suspended me without pay and without cause. My actions were justified according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. The bodycam and the press release from the District Attorneys Office were made public and in support of my actions. Since the release of my bodycam, I have had an incredible amount of Support from Police Agencies and citizens throughout the State.

I am seeking monetary assistance to hire expert lawyers that have expertise in suing Police Departments and Cities. This is going to be an expensive legal battle that I know is achievable. I am not just fighting for me, I am fighting for the future of Police Officers in New York State for treatment such as this. We truly do an extraordinary job daily and I will not let any Police agency in New York treat me or Police Officers in this way. Many of us Police Officers go out on Patrol in the community daily, not knowing if we will actually come home safe to our families, to do an amazing and selfless job to help others.
