During the incident, the suspect, who was already in custody, managed to steal a police unit, leading to a dangerous chase. In the line of duty, Officer Prewitt sustained major injuries and was rushed to the hospital in critical but stable condition. Thanks to the quick actions of his fellow officers, the suspect was apprehended, but Officer Prewitt’s journey to recovery had only just begun.

Since the accident, Officer Prewitt has undergone numerous surgeries and faces a long road to recuperation and convalescence. The extent of his injuries means he will be unable to return to work for an unknown period, placing a significant financial burden on him and his loved ones.
