On May 20, 2026, my husband, Hollywood Police Officer Luis Diaz, was involved in a serious crash after a BMW crossed over the median on Ocean Drive and collided with his patrol vehicle. Following the accident, Luis was transported to the hospital, where doctors discovered a brain bleed. Thankfully, he is doing well overall and is expected to be released from the hospital today, but he will still need time to rest, recover, and heal from the incident.

This fundraiser is being organized to help support Luis and our family during his recovery. Donations will assist with medical expenses, missed time from work, and other unexpected costs that can come with an event like this. Every day, law enforcement officers put themselves in harm’s way to protect the community, never knowing what a shift may bring.
