Support Officer James Black's Recovery Journey

Hi, I’m Tosha Maldonado and I am setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my brother, Officer James Black III, who was injured while patrolling the Texas Tech University campus on June 24th at 12:45 am.

James has sustained multiple injuries from being struck by a vehicle and from being shot in the line of duty. Due to the injuries James sustained, he will need rehabilitation and physical therapy for months to come. Any financial assistance received will be contributed to extra costs associated with this incident.

Injuries sustained include: fractured/broken shoulder blades, several vertebraes, hip, and ribs. James had surgery on June 25th to repair the hip, and it was successful.

We appreciate the overwhelming amount of prayers and support our family has received from the community and will give updates as we receive them.
