Support For Officer Gaines

Hi everyone! My name is Meagan Gaines and I am organizing this Go Fund Me in benefit for my brother in law, Robin Gaines.

 

Robin is a loving husband, father, veteran & police officer. He is very hard working, he loves his family, his community & his country!

 

On Sunday October 17, 2021 Robin was involved in a horrific, tragic incident. He was on duty & dispatched to a disturbance call. He was 1st on scene and when he arrived he found a man beating a teenager with a rock. Robin was able to get the suspect to stop and attempted to place handcuffs on him when the suspect turned and stabbed Robin in the neck and throat. At that point Robin drew his firearm and shot the suspect. Another officer arrived on scene and saved Robin’s life by rushing him to the hospital. Robin immediately went into emergency surgery. Our family is very grateful for this officers fast actions and rushing him to the hospital. The suspect had already killed the mother of his children and was beating his son when Robin arrived. Unfortunately the son did not make it. There was a 5 year old child in the home unharmed. We believe that if Robin didn’t stop the attack the child would have been next. In our eyes Robin is a hero!

 

Robin’s injuries are very serious and he has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He has major nerves in his neck that were severed and will be out of work for atleast 2 months.

 

With the holidays around the corner we are asking for any help to make sure my brother in law, his wife and my nieces & nephew don’t have to worry about financial stresses while he is recovering.
