Officer Cameron Wood, a dedicated member of the Burleson Police Department and loving father of three, experienced a life-altering medical emergency on the night of May 16, 2026. While working his usual night shift, Cameron suddenly began slurring his words and showing signs of a major medical episode. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered he had suffered two strokes—one on each side of his brain—along with multiple infections in his brain and brain stem. The situation became even more serious when they found that the infection likely originated from his heart, leading to a diagnosis of endocarditis. Cameron’s brain is also bleeding, and he has a complete blockage in a vessel, resulting in dead tissue and significant cognitive challenges.
Since that night, Cameron has lost the ability to walk and talk. He is currently undergoing intensive treatment, including IV antibiotics, and faces a long road ahead with weeks or months in the hospital and rehabilitation. His wife, Rebecca, is by his side every step of the way. Together, they are raising three young boys: Bryson (8), Jace (4), and Harrison (almost 1). The sudden shift from having a healthy, active dad to one who cannot communicate or care for himself has been heartbreaking for the entire family.
Cameron’s family needs support now more than ever. Anything you can give—no matter how small—will help cover medical bills, daily expenses, and provide some stability as they navigate this difficult journey. Your generosity will mean the world to Cameron, Rebecca, their children, and the entire Burleson Police Department family. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help bring hope and healing to Cameron’s family.
