We are calling the banners, join with us as we collectively fight with Jesse as he takes on cancer for a third time.
Late last year I met Jesse Carpenter, and it wasn't long before we became close friends; talking almost everyday and often times for hours on end. If this sounds familiar to you, it's probably because you've had a similar experience with Jesse, that's just how he is when making friends, all in, all the way. And there are never enough friends either, he has an endless capacity for kindness and compassion.
So it was with sadness I learned of Jesse's sickness. His cancer had returned just in time to spoil his planned trip to Europe. The journey to the Castle Stahleck forbidden by his doctors while he was undergoing treatment. Out of the shadows it came prepared to ruin him, but before it could strike Jesse had it beat. For a second time, he stood over it victorious. I was elated to learn that my friend could go on living without the burden of poor health.
Last week, that treacherous cancer reared its ugly head again, just in time to try and ruin yet another planned trip, this time to GenCon. However Jesse wouldn't be fazed, and even with the tremendous stress of knowing, he finished in the top 8 of the NA Joust Championships.
But now it's time to fight, and Jesse needs our help. Past battles have made this time even more trying and difficult, and to start treatment we need to raise $1700 ASAP. Once more, to continue the treatment, Jesse will be paying insurance premiums of over $1000 per month. I write to you all now, knowing you feel as I do about this man, who has changed the game we love, nay, changed our lives for the better, and I ask you to help.
An anonymous donor has vowed to match every penny raised here on the gofundme platform up to our first goal of $1700, and there will be multiple auctions and event proceeds added in the coming weeks. We can help Jesse, you can help Jesse, let's give back some of what he has given to all of us.
Every dollar donated goes directly to Jesse to aid in his battle.
