Below is a message from Sally:

Hi everybody!

My name is Sally Moyland. I am 17 years old and an aspiring U.S. table tennis player. I started playing the game at the age of eight, and currently am the #1 rated girls' junior in the U.S. and #4 on the U.S. Women's list. In terms of international standing, I am ranked #8 for under-19 and #6 for under-17 by World Table Tennis (WTT)'s 2024 week24-June 11th ranking. Butterfly is my primary sponsor, and I owe them and all the wonderful people that have provided support to me my greatest thanks as they have all had a part in enabling me to reach these achievements.

2024 is a harsh recovery year for me, as I had my knee surgery in December 2023. I worked up the fastest recovery that I could to participate in the US Olympic Team Trials at the end of March. Kind of strange to say this, but that was probably the hardest I have ever worked in the seventeen years of my time on earth. All that effort was just to give myself a chance at becoming a 2024 Olympian. Although settling for first alternate was the harsh reality, it was still an unbelievable achievement. Despite the slight feeling of defeat, I still saw the shining star of hope and held my head high. My next goal is for the 2028 LA Olympics.

After the trial, I continue focusing on recovering my physical condition so I can practice and compete as usual or even better. Along with the 2024 Paris Olympics, I plan to train and participate in a few WTT events in Europe. My goal for the remainder of 2024 is to start attending more adult WTT tournaments so that I can advance my experience at the senior level and move up my Women's World ranking.

As the first Alternate of the 2024 Paris Olympics, I do not receive financial support from USATT (USA Table Tennis). Given the situation, I am seeking your assistance for $10,000 to cover the costs for Paris, my training, and WTT competitions in 2024.
