Support of Kailee
Donation protected
Hello friends, we are asking for your help in supporting Kailee Peppard. She is an 11 year old girl who was recently diagnosed with Stage 5 Renal Kidney Disease.
We were all floored by this news. None more than her immediate family. Who are now trying to comprehend how their little girl went from playing basketball only a few weeks before, to now watching their daughter go through dialysis treatments. With her parents, Travis and Jennifer, being completely committed to supporting Kailee every step of the way, they haven't left her side at the hospital.
We are hopeful that soon Kailee will be released from the hospital and be allowed to go home. But even at home she must still receive dialysis treatments on a weekly basis. Starting off Kailee and her parents must make the trip to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester NY, a two and a half hour trip, for dialysis treatments and procedures to get Kailee ready to be home full time. While she recovers from her procedures, her parents will be trained to operate an at home dialysis machine which Kailee will need to do every night while she sleeps.
The only way Kailee can get a break from dialysis treatment is to receive a kidney transplant. For this, she would need a donor with blood type O negative. The rarest blood type. And even then, because she is just a child, the toll her new kidney would take would only last 15 to 20 years before she would need another kidney transplant.
Donations to Kailee would help her family with:
-travel expenses to and from the hospital
-equipment expenses for the at home dialysis machine
-expense on very specific dietary guidelines Kailee now has to follow
-Medical bills for Kailee's time spent in the hospital and multiple procedures
Please support this family anyway you can. Donations, prayers, and most importantly passing along Kailee's story in hopes of finding a donor so we can get this sweet and beautiful young girl back to living a dialysis free life.
