Support Odyssey Charter Schools After Devastating Eaton Fire

Dear Friends, Families, and Supporters,

Odyssey Charter Schools continues rebuilding after the devastating Eaton Fire swept through Altadena and impacted both campuses on January 7, 2025.

Since the Eaton Fire, our community has shown incredible resilience, working hard to restore stability, learning and connection across both campuses.

Your donations directly supported critical recovery efforts across both campuses, including temporary relocation efforts, environmental testing, a new permanent campus for OCS South and essential student and school resources:

A Place to Continue Learning
After the destruction of the OCS South campus and smoke exposure at the Odyssey campus left both sites uninhabitable for the Spring 2025 semester, temporary learning sites were secured across Pasadena at the Boys & Girls Club, One Colorado and ArtCenter. These spaces allowed students and staff to safely continue learning during an incredibly uncertain time.

A New Home for South
For fall 2025, OCS South secured a permanent campus in Altadena, one block away from Odyssey, allowing students and families to return to a stable environment. OCS South also received a seven-year charter renewal, reinforcing a promising future for our students.

Our Students’ Health & Wellbeing
Prioritizing the safety of our community, we conducted extensive environmental testing and remediation across both campuses, allowing students and staff to safely return.

Students also gained access to new classroom materials, enrichments, playground equipment, garden spaces and supportive resources, while reconnecting with classmates in safe environments that help restore a sense of normalcy.

The Road Ahead
Enrollment remains one of the biggest challenges ahead for OCS South, which is currently rebuilding at approximately 50% of its pre-fire enrollment. More than 80 families lost their homes and many have not been able to return to the community.

Since our school funding is directly tied to enrollment, continued support will help OCS South maintain programs, support student wellbeing and navigate the ongoing recovery process.

Your support has helped restore our community and the sense of connection that makes Odyssey home for many students and families. The impact of your support is felt every day across our classrooms. Thank you for helping carry Odyssey forward as we rebuild together.

With gratitude and hope,
The Odyssey Charter Schools Community
