UPDATE: Healing, Hope, and a Long Road Ahead ❤️
I wanted to give you all an update on how Odin is doing. As many of you know, he recently had to undergo surgery to have one of his legs amputated. It was an incredibly tough decision, but ultimately the best one to give him a chance at a pain-free life.
The good news is—he made it through surgery like a champ and is healing beautifully. He’s already showing signs of that same playful spirit, wagging his tail and trying to move around more every day. It’s been inspiring to see his resilience and determination.
That said, he still has a long road ahead. He’s adjusting to life on three legs and the extra strength that is needed for it. Every step forward feels like a small victory.
I’ll keep everyone posted as he continues to heal and adapt. I've added new photos of Odin as well.

Meet Odin! Two years ago, Odin was born into the Okmulgee Humane Society shelter. He spent his first year in the shelter or was boarded at a groomer's where he was kept in a cage. Odin finally was able to be fostered, where he was able to spend another year before my sweet momma and her partner decided it was time to give him a forever home.
Unfortunately, due to spending so much time in a crate, Odin developed severe arthritis in both his back legs, and has little to no feeling in his front paws. That doesn't stop him from being the sweetest and most lovable boy, though. My mom and her partner decided Odin was way too young to spend the rest of his life in pain and decided it would be best to get him surgery on his back legs to repair whatever they could.
He got his first surgery in early April, where they repaired his knee as well as a partial ACL tear. After seven weeks of rest and healing, Odin was finally ready to get his other leg repaired. Just a week ago, he underwent intensive surgery for his other leg. The doctor said it was one of the worst he's seen, and he just hoped it would heal as well as the other leg. Only time would tell.
Odin has had nothing but complications this past week: peeing blood, staples coming out, more random bleeding.
Unfortunately, despite all the care and hope, complications led to the heartbreaking decision to amputate the leg.
He's now on the long road to recovery, but the medical bills from the surgeries, hospital stays, and medications have become overwhelming I'm sure. My mom has always done everything she can for her pets, and asking for help is not something that comes easily to her. So, I'm asking for help for her.
If you’re able to help, even in a small way, it would make a huge difference. Every donation will go directly toward his veterinary expenses and ongoing care such as a follow up visits, a new set of wheels, and any other medical equipment that would help his quality of life. Thank you so much for your support and kindness during this difficult time.
