Support Odile Mukiza's Spinal Rehab Journey
Donation protected
Dear friends and family,
We are reaching out to request your support for our sister and friend, Odile Mukiza, who recently faced a terrible accident. In July 2024, a metallic sliding gate door fell on her, resulting in a severe spinal cord injury. Odile sustained fractures in her T11 and T12 vertebrae, leading to complete paralysis in her lower body. After undergoing surgery to decompress and stabilize her spine, she has been receiving physiotherapy at a local hospital in Kigali, Rwanda.
While her strength and resilience have been remarkable, Odile now needs specialized spinal cord rehabilitation, and she will be pursuing it at an advanced facility in Istanbul, Turkey - a facility recommended by her current doctors. This advanced treatment is crucial for her recovery, giving her the best chance to regain nerve control.
Although the initial cost of rehab is covered, additional expenses, such as necessary equipment and post-rehab physiotherapy, are still significant. We are trying to raise $47,000 to support Odile in this journey. Any contribution will make a meaningful difference. Please consider donating to support her journey!
Currently, Odile would like to keep this process among her family and friends. You may share this privately among your loved ones; however, we ask that you do not post about the GoFundMe on social media or any other public sites. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Patrick Rutikanga via phone call +250 783 622 109, via WhatsApp at [phone redacted], or via email at [email redacted].
Thank you for being a part of Odile’s powerful community!
