Hi, my name is Octavia, and I’m currently in desperate need of help. Life has become incredibly difficult, and my silent cries for support have gone unheard. So I guess I need to be a little louder. I’m struggling to keep up with basic needs — including food and monthly bills — and I’m doing my best to stay strong through it all. I got laid off from my job (along with others) the Tuesday after the big tornado. I have been living off of my savings and the money made from my small business, but now business is slow and my savings are gone. I got denied for unemployment and EBT. I'm looking for jobs, but haven't heard back from anyone yet. If you’re able to give, even a little, your kindness would mean the world to me. I have type 2 diabetes and I am trying to stay on my diet plan. Which means I cannot eat a lot of the food that they give out at the free pantries.
