Hello there! My name is Madison. I am making this GoFundMe for my really good friends, Summer and Jeremy.

On Saturday, November 8th, 2025, they received a very terrifying phone call from family members who, at the time, were watching their youngest daughter, Oaklyn.

Jeremy was working, and Summer was attending a birthday party with her oldest daughter.

Oaklyn had grabbed her grandfather's extremely hot coffee off the counter and burned herself from her shoulders down with severe 2nd degree burns . Thankfully, her grandparents reacted the way they did, and it only caused her to have severe 2nd degree burns.

Oaklyn was airlifted to John Hopkins to be treated. After meeting with the burn team, they decided Oaklyn was okay to leave the next morning, and she did.

Two days after being discharged (11/11/25), Oaklyn started running off and on fevers. Summer and Jeremy were told to bring her back to John Hopkins immediately, and so they did, and that's where they have been. Right now, every day is up in the air as to when they will be leaving with Oaklyn spiking fevers and nobody having answers to why.

Summer and Jeremy would do anything for anybody and would never ask for help, so that's why I'm making this GoFundMe to help with the cost of their living right now. They're both missing work at this point and have no idea when they will be returning. With them not working, that means no income is coming through their household. Between traveling back and forth, tolls, parking, and feeding themselves, they're stressing about finances when they should just be worried about Oaklyn at this time.

Prayers are very much needed for Oaklyn's recovery. With her only being 1 year old, this is very uncomfortable for her, and she doesn't understand why she's feeling the way she is, which causes a lot of emotions for Summer and Jeremy as well, with already being away from home and their two other daughters. They would appreciate anything at this point, even if it's just a prayer for Oaklyn.
