I did NOT want to make this post, but we are desperate for some help. This is Oakley, my husband's dog who is a Combat Marine Corps Veteran.

Last Tuesday the 13th, we had noticed Oak was not in the fenced yard. My husband Kody went out to yell for him and found him out on the front lawn and couldn't walk. He had been hit by a car, and left there. He was not out long so it all had happened pretty quickly. Kody carried Oakley in and we got him into the vet.

They took X-Rays and told us he needed to have surgery. That estimate was starting out at 5700$ and due that night. We did not have that kind of money to spend, so our only option was to put a cast on it and bring him home. That visit alone was 1100$

He has open wounds from being hit, so they were concerned about how those would heal in a cast. But they did their best! We went to the vet on Monday to get his cast changed out as we were told it needed to be changed weekly. That went great, but Oakley was able to get his cast off during the night. We took him back yesterday, and they found that he had black on his tissue.. meaning dead tissue and now putting a new cast on would not be an option. They said the only option was immediate amputation. That was our only option to keep Oakley alive. So they did the amputation last night and we are due to pick him up today at some point..

If you know Kody or I, you know that we go above and beyond to try to help anyone. We have two very big hearts and would do whatever we could to help. We need help. His amputation cost 2700$ and is due today.

If ANYONE is willing to help make donations, we would greatly appreciate it. We could offer to pay back any funds when we get paid next week, but with having to pay 1100 yesterday and other bills, we can not do this on our own.

Any amount helps us greatly! We have also since taken down the old fence and had to buy 6 foot fencing to ensure they can not get out again.
