Support Oakley: Battling Leukemia Together
Donación protegida
Hello family and friends of the Wrozek family!
On Monday, April 28, Oakley was sent to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital due to concerning lab work that was taken because of swollen lymph nodes and lingering symptoms from a recent illness. On Tuesday, April 29, Oakley was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Though B-ALL is a rare blood cancer affecting b-cell development, it is the most common type of leukemia in kids and is treatable. On Wednesday, April 30, Oakley had her first of many lumbar punctures and received her first dose of chemo.
We are thankful for the amazing doctors and nurses at Helen DeVos and how kind, patient, and supportive they have been thus far. Though Oakley has a long road of treatment ahead of her and there are many unknowns, she is strong and fierce and continues to blow us away with her strength and courage. While Josh and Jordyn are optimistic, they are going to need all the prayers and support they can get for the journey ahead.
While this diagnosis shook our world, it came at no surprise to God. There is eternal hope and unrelenting strength that resides in the healing hands of Jesus. It’s hard to comprehend the grander plan and why we have to endure the tears and heavy hearts along the way, but to God be all the glory and His will be done. Now is the time to place our trust in Him!
Josh and Jordyn are still working out how to care for Oakley and attend to her medical needs while also caring for Cade (8 mos), managing work schedules, and dealing with abrupt and potentially longterm loss of wages, increased living costs, and ongoing medical expenses. While grateful Josh is able to continue working full time, Jordyn's job may need to be put on hold for the foreseeable future so that she can safely care for Oakley and Cade. Though optimistic and trusting God to provide, Josh, Jordyn, Oakley, and Cade are going to need all the prayers and support they can get. All funds will directly go to Josh and Jordyn to help provide for their needs so they can focus on caring for Oakley.
Verses comforting Jordyn and Josh right now:
-Isaiah 41:10
-Matthew 11:28-30
-Psalm 23:1-4
-Psalm 46:10
