As teachers in the Oakland Unified School District, we are taking a stand for our students and fighting for more equitable classrooms and schools. We believe that every student deserves access to the resources and support they need to thrive and that every educator deserves fair pay and adequate staffing to meet the needs of their students.

However, going on strike is a significant financial burden for us as educators, as we will miss work and pay to fight for our cause. That's why we're reaching out to our community for support during this important time.

We're asking for donations to help us cover the costs of strike supplies such as materials for making signs and food while picketing in the early morning. We also want to support our fellow teachers who may be significantly affected financially by the strike and help them with the expenses that may occur during this difficult time.
