Help Us Care for Abandoned Dogs at Oak & Paw Resort
We run a boarding facility in Macedon, New York that we took over from a failing rescue we used to volunteer at. We stepped in to create our own business, mainly to keep the animals that were left behind safe while we worked to find them homes.
While doing that, we also tried to help our community. We gave discounted boarding rates to a man who brought us seven dogs, saying he ran a sanctuary and was relocating. He paid for the first few weeks, then stopped. After that, it was excuse after excuse.
When we finally decided to look into him further—something we should have done from the start—we found out this is not the first time he’s done this. He has a history of not paying and taking advantage of businesses, including other boarding facilities.
Right now, we still have his seven dogs, on top of the six rescue dogs we were already caring for and trying to place in homes. We are doing everything we can to rehome them, but the added cost has put a serious strain on our business.
As of today, we are owed $10,880 that we will likely never see.
If anyone is able to donate and help us continue caring for these dogs while we find them homes, we would truly appreciate it. Even sharing this helps more than you know.
Thank you.
