I’m raising money for my 9-month old tuxedo kitten, Nyx. My boyfriend and I noticed a mass on her chest that has grown in size the past few months and she’s now been to the vet three times in the past two weeks. We’ve so far spent over $1,000 on medical bills for her. I have pet insurance for my fur babies but unfortunately my claims for her have been denied. As they think her condition was “pre-existing” before I signed up for the pet insurance.

Our primary vet took x-rays of the tumor and determined it was too complicated for him to remove so he recommended us to a surgery specialist, BluePearl pet hospital. Our vet there did a fine needle aspiration & blood test to try to determine what the mass is. It’s still inconclusive if the tumor is benign or malignant but there are cells present that occur in some cancers. Our vet thinks it’s less likely to be cancer as she’s so young but she will still need a biopsy/ surgery to remove the tumor, whether or not it’s cancerous. She’s been having to run many tests on Nyx to determine what this tumor is.

Unfortunately the cost of the surgery is something my boyfriend and I cannot afford. The vet quoted us over $5,000 for the surgery alone. We want to provide the best care possible for her, she’s the sweetest cat ever and is too young to be going through all of this. We’d be eternally grateful for any and all support, thank you so much
