Support Nythen's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected

Many of you may know Nythen, but if you have never met him, let me enlighten you on who he is and what it is like to know him. To know Nythen is to know friendship, kindness, and unconditional love—no matter who you are or when you met him. He greets everyone with a smile and a warm hello, and maybe a hug if you will let him. He loves like warm sunshine after many gloomy days. His love is radiant, pure, and boundless. On the worst of days, he knows just how to cheer you up. His smile is contagious, and it’s impossible to be sad around him. In his eyes, everyone is worthy of love, and he wants to be the one to spread it. He is such a light in the lives of everyone he meets. His family means the world to him, and he means the world to his family.

When Nythen was just an infant, he was diagnosed with Williams syndrome. It is a rare developmental disorder that affects many body systems, mainly his heart. It is also known as the “Friendly Syndrome” because most individuals with this syndrome are extremely friendly and sociable. Due to this diagnosis, he had to undergo multiple open-heart surgeries as a baby. The years that followed have been full of doctor appointments, more surgeries, and complications. He remains positive throughout all of this.

Recently, he was brought to the hospital due to some new symptoms. The hospital ran some tests and transferred him to Riley Children’s Hospital. At Riley’s, he was then diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, an aggressive cancer. At only 12 years old, he must now face more medical hardship and weeks of nonstop treatments and testing. His family has to uproot themselves and stay in Indianapolis to be with him during his treatment. The doctors predict at least six weeks.

This situation comes with a lot of financial stress. Going back and forth to take care of things at home, managing their household, meals, arrangements, and care for their animals, alongside expenses due to his health, adds up very quickly. To support Nythen and his family during this incredibly dark time, anything helps—even just sharing this. We are also asking for many prayers to help him get through this. We appreciate all of the love and support that has been given. Nythen appreciates it as well, and he loves all of you. Thank you all so much.
