Support Ny’s Fight Against Kidney Disease

My name is Ny Stevenson, from Little Rock, Arkansas. I’m 38 years old, and I’ve spent my life pushing through challenges with determination and heart. Basketball has been a huge part of my journey. I played college basketball at the University of Oklahoma, which opened the door for me to be drafted by the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury. I also had the opportunity to continue my career overseas in Italy and Israel. Those experiences shaped who I am today and taught me how to fight, stay disciplined, and never give up.

Right now, I’m facing the toughest battle of my life. I have End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), and I’m currently on dialysis while waiting for a second kidney transplant. Dialysis keeps me going, but it’s not a cure. It’s physically draining, emotionally exhausting, and it impacts every part of my daily life. What I truly need is a kidney transplant, and finding a living donor is critical for me.

My blood type is O Positive, which can make finding a match more challenging. A living donor would give me a second chance at life—a chance to live without being tied to dialysis, to regain my strength, and to move forward with hope and purpose. This is not easy for me to ask, but I need help.

On top of everything, the financial burden from treatments, medical care, and transplant-related expenses continues to grow. Even with insurance, the costs are overwhelming. Any donations will go directly toward my medical bills, dialysis treatments, medications, and the expenses that come with preparing for and recovering from a transplant.

I’ve always tried to inspire others by how I live and how I fight through adversity. Now, I’m asking for support during the most difficult time in my life. Whether you can share my story, consider becoming a living donor, or contribute financially, it truly means more than I can put into words. Every bit of support brings me closer to getting the transplant I need and the chance to keep living my life fully.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for being part of this journey with me.
