Nurses at NYP went on strike on January 12th after months of negotiating with NYP management. A fair contract was not reached, so nurses were forced to go out on strike. For these nurses, this meant leaving the hospital where they care for patients and standing in the streets at the peak of winter with no health insurance, no pay, and no benefits. Nurses are still fighting for safe staffing to ensure we can provide the best care for our patients.

The money raised through this fundraiser will go directly to supporting solid organ transplant nurses with essential living expenses like groceries, bills, and rent. Your support will help ensure that these nurses can remain on strike, standing up for themselves and their patients, without having to worry about how they will make ends meet during this difficult time.

Las enfermeras de NYP iniciaron una huelga el 12 de enero después de meses de negociaciones sin éxito con la administración. Sin un contrato justo, no tuvieron otra opción que detener sus labores. Esto significó dejar el hospital, donde atienden a sus pacientes, y permanecer en las calles durante el invierno sin seguro médico, sin pago y sin beneficios. Siguen luchando por condiciones seguras que permitan brindar la mejor atención.
