Hello, my name is Nwanne. I am raising funds to help my mother not to get evicted and to get her only possessions out of storage.

My mother Hadijah is 84 this month; it's almost her birthday. She is a gifted Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. She put herself through school while raising 4 children by herself, then devoted herself entirely to her 5 grandchildren for the next stage of her life while continuing to practice acupuncture, gaining a small but devoted group of clients due to her mastery of acupuncture and her holistic and compassionate approach to caring for her patients. She is one of a kind, and they love her!

She is not practicing right now. Over the last few years, my mom has had hip surgery, a compression fracture in her back, a cancer removal, as well as eye surgery. It has been really hard to see her go through all the pain these conditions have brought her. Just yesterday, we found out she needs to have knee surgery. She has not been able to walk without assistance for quite a few years now; however, she is determined to recover and get back to her practice! She is a fighter.

Recently, we had to leave our family home due to it being sold and move into a small apartment together. We spent everything we had to make the move but unfortunately could not afford movers and put all of our things in a storage unit. We moved to a state where they reduced her social security for the first few months and also cut off the payment I was getting as her home health aide, and this has caused everything to fall behind. The apartment complex has advised that they will be putting through an eviction, and the storage unit with my mother's library of medicine books plus all copies of her life's work, a thesis that she wrote and has yet to publish, is at risk of being lost. She is most upset by the thought of this.

We are trying to raise funds to get over this transition while I look for alternative work that I can do while still caring for my Mom. If we could figure this out, it would be a great birthday present to her!
