The GoFundMe will remain open as a way to support the family in preparing for funeral expenses and to pay off medical bills. Thank you again for your incredibly generous support.

*Update 1/20/23 - Hi all, I just spoke with Jess today and unfortunately I have some sad news and updates to share. Federico's health is rapidly worsening, and the family is preparing for his likely transition in these next few days. Please feel free to pray or send kind thoughts to the family to wrap them with love, support, and compassion as they go through this challenging time together. Jess and Freddy have deeply appreciated the outpouring of support, it has been so incredibly helpful to them in an otherwise devastating time. The funds from this fundraiser will be shifted from in-home care support to paying off hospital bills, accrued medical expenses, and towards funeral expenses. Thank you so much for your understanding and for your support.*

To friends, family, and loved ones of the Nuti family,

Unfortunately we have the sad news to share that Federico Nuti, husband to Maria and father to Jessica and Freddy, was diagnosed with terminal leukemia in November 2022. The family has been in great pain and shock ever since. They have been navigating treatment and pain management options and trying to ensure Federico is well taken care of. Federico is in as good spirits as he can be, however his physical condition has deteriorated rapidly in the past few months and he requires full-time care.

Friends of the family are organizing this fundraiser to support the Nutis with urgent and necessary medical expenses in this challenging time. Freddy has been the full-time caretaker of his dad these past few months, however his FMLA (Family Medical Leave) will expire Feb 1st and he will need to return to work. The family urgently needs to secure full-time in-home care support during the week starting February 1st.

Unfortunately, they are confronting the harsh and unjust reality of a medical care system that is for profit. After speaking extensively with insurance and social workers, the only option available to them is to pay for in-home care out of pocket. This is a very large and unexpected expense and the family is struggling with how to come up with these necessary funds.

This is where we, their community, come in! If you are able, I invite you to give generously to help cover these in-home care costs. In-home care typically costs 4K-6K a month, and they anticipate needing at least 3 months of in-home care support. This is an urgent request as they need to make plans in these next few weeks to secure care starting in February.

Instead of worrying about finances, Jessica, Freddy and Maria should be able to focus on spending quality time with Federico and together. While the family is praying for a miracle, the tragic reality is that these next few months are likely their last together with their beloved father and husband. Let’s support them to get the care Federico needs, and to help lessen the heavy burden they are carrying right now. Let’s wrap them with community support and love!

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Bekah, family friend, on behalf of Jessica and Freddy Nuti
