We are nurses from New York Presbyterian Hospital working on a medical-surgical floor where we care for some of the most vulnerable patients, many who are cognitively impaired, bedridden, and medically complex.
For five weeks, we have been on strike, standing together for safer staffing and the ability to provide the level of care our patients deserve. This has not been an easy decision. Nursing is not just our job, it’s our calling.
As this strike continues, the financial strain has become very real. Behind every nurse is a family, rent or mortgage payments, groceries, student loans, and everyday responsibilities. Some members of our team are quietly struggling to stay afloat while remaining committed to this fight.
This fundraiser has been created to support nurses on our unit who may need temporary financial assistance during this time. Funds will be distributed thoughtfully and respectfully to help cover essential living expenses.
We take care of our patients every day. Now, we are asking for help taking care of our own.
Any contribution, big or small, means more than you know.
Thank you for your solidarity and support.
