From Deyaa:
Some of you may know me well, but I would like to introduce myself to you. I am Deyaa Al-Najjar, a member of the medical staff here in Gaza. I finished my university studies in July 2017. I worked as a volunteer from the beginning of the war until this moment. I never left the hospital at the European Gaza Hospital in Rafah, until we were forcibly displaced from it. I lived through such a complex displacement process that contains many memories of pain and suffering that no human being can imagine.
Since the beginning of the war, I have been devoting myself to volunteer work in hospitals without stopping. Through these words, I would like to introduce myself to those who do not know me, and express my deep belief in the importance of humanitarian work in Palestine in light of the difficult circumstances we live in.
Displacement and its difficulties:
From the beginning of the war, from the first day, we were forced to leave our border village due to the difficult conditions. We fled from the village of Khuza’a to the large town of Abasan, leaving behind many memories. We did not know that we would not be able to return to our homes. After a few days, we were also forced to flee again to Khan Yunis and then to Rafah. Every single displacement process carries within it a lot of suffering and oppression.
Believe me, I cannot describe it because you have never felt a day when you do not know what is coming to you and what step you should take next because that step might cost you the life of an entire family, because you will decide where to flee and look for a safe place.
About my family:
My family consists of 6 individuals. Before the war, we were living in difficult circumstances. So what about you now after this hideous war ? My father always worked in (farms) seven days a week, despite his poor health condition. He worked like this because of the low wages here in Gaza, and the costs of our family’s living, including education, health, and various aspects of life.
They destroyed our house:
I saw a destroyed computer and our house, so I sat crying for long hours of sadness. My father put in 30 years of work to build this house. Imagine the amount of hardship, fatigue and effort they exerted during the great years. Perhaps you did not understand what was being conveyed, because you could not imagine how our situation was in Gaza. Imagine how angry they are and when they die that all their fatigue may become rubble. This is not just a house, it is our home and it contains our memories and the nostalgia of the family that has always been ours.
A campaign to support my future and my family:
After receiving many messages of support from my followers, and their eagerness to provide assistance in various ways, I finally decided to launch a fundraising campaign to support my family and achieve my dreams.
This campaign aims to:
Meeting my family’s basic needs and ensuring a decent life for them
Completing my educational career and achieving my dream
Rebuilding our house, which had become rubble
Thank you for your generosity and understanding. Together, we can make a positive impact on the lives of many.
