Nuria has spent the last 15 years caring for our family’s children. She has been part of our lives since my son was just five days old, and we truly wouldn’t be who we are without her love, steadiness, and devotion.

Today, Nuria is facing the most heartbreaking moment of her life.

Her daughter is in the final days of her life in the hospital, and in the midst of this unimaginable loss, Nuria has made the courageous decision to take full-time care and legal custody of her granddaughter, Penelope.

Penelope is special needs, uses a wheelchair, and requires round-the-clock care and support. Nuria is stepping into this role out of pure love and responsibility, despite the significant financial strain of living in California on a modest income.

We are raising funds to help Nuria and Penelope through this incredibly difficult transition. Contributions will go toward daily living expenses, caregiving and medical needs, transportation, and creating stability as Nuria becomes Penelope’s primary caregiver.
