Support striking NUHW members at Children's Hospital Oakland

We, the healthcare workers at Children’s Hospital Oakland (CHO), who are members of the National Union of Healthcare Workers (NUHW), are going on strike to stop UCSF from terminating our union contracts, leaving us with significantly less take-home pay, and, for some workers, no union at all. NUHW members in the Service & Technical and Business Office Clerical bargaining units, which make up over 1000 healthcare workers, begin an open-ended strike on June 18th. Registered Nurses and Engineers will be on strike as well, and all of us will be joined by hundreds more of hospital workers who will be honoring our picket lines, and we won't stop until we win!

My name is Stephanie Lum Ho and I am a 12 year employee of CHO, organizer and committee member of this strike fund, which consist of 4 current employees of CHO. Our membership, the Service & Technical and Business Office Clerical employees at Children’s Hospital Oakland(CHO), is starting this Strike Hardship Fund and have established this committee to help our coworkers alleviate some of the financial struggles, as we fight this unlawful and immoral attack on healthcare workers! Your donations will be distributed to our membership who meet the criteria by check or mobile payment services to help pay for food/groceries, rent/mortgage, utilities, medical bills, transportation, and childcare. Myself, along with the Strike Fund Committee will be handling bank transfers and managing the distribution of your donations to our coworkers.

We're asking you to support the people who support the kids. This fight is not just against UCSF's hostile takeover attempt, it's a fight FOR our patients, our communities, and the future of this Hospital.
