Nugget needs help going to rescue! Nugget has been couch surfing at a local shelter, waiting for his forever family, but he needs to get to a rescue. Nugget has boundless energy and is super excited to go out and play. Unfortunately, this enthusiasm leads to some poor leash manners, including biting at the leash in excitement. Once outside, he calms down and enjoys his outside time immensely.
Nugget had not been out to a play yard in a week, and he was so excited to get out, he started biting a the leash while still in his kennel. After being leashed and stepping out of his kennel, he bit at the leash again, but unfortunately, he made contact with the humans arm. Per the victim, Nugget was not being aggressive, but rather excited to get out.
Sadly, shelters all over are overcrowded and overwhelmed, and this means that Nugget isn’t able to get enough leash training or outside time to help him learn better ways to show his excitement and burn off his energy than biting at a leash (and accidentally getting an arm) He desperately needs to get to a rescue now, where there are more resources to focus on Nugget's needs.
Nugget does not do particularly well with other dogs, and upon meeting a new dog, there was a scuffle. While trying to break up the fight, someone’s hand was bit.
There are some rescues interested in pulling Nugget and working with him to improve upon these behaviors and find the most appropriate home for Nugget to live in.
Sending Nugget to rescue will cost about $4500. Every last penny donated will go towards Nugget’s rescue. Getting to rescue is literally Nugget’s only chance at life right now.
If we can’t raise the money to send Nugget to rescue, he will be euthenized. Nugget’s life depends on getting to a rescue, where he can learn how to show his exuberance for outside time and his dislike for other dogs in a proper manner (not with his mouth) . Please help us save Nugget and get him to rescue.
