Nova Youth Robotics (NYR) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to making STEM and robotics more accessible to students and communities. Through robotics teams, STEM programs, workshops, mentorship, and outreach, NYR gives students opportunities to learn technical skills, work as a team, and become leaders in their communities.

The Electronovas, FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team #18264, operate under Nova Youth Robotics. As part of NYR, the Electronovas compete in FTC while also helping support NYR’s larger mission of spreading STEM education and opportunities to students locally and around the world.

During the 2025–2026 season, the Electronovas competed at the FIRST World Championship, where we won the Reach Award for our impact in STEM outreach and finished in the Top 15 of our division.

Our work goes beyond robotics competitions. We have completed 500+ hours of outreach and reached approximately 4,500 people through robotics workshops, STEM camps, mentorship, and international programs.

We are also active in our local Fairfax community. We have participated in events such as Funbotics, Techstravaganza, and Earth Day at the Science Center, where we helped introduce students and families to STEM and robotics.

Through Nova Youth Robotics, we also organized three different after-school STEM camps at Title I elementary schools. These camps provided students with hands-on STEM activities while also creating volunteer opportunities for local high school students to gain experience mentoring and teaching younger students.

Our outreach has also reached communities around the world. We have helped provide programming, math, and English lessons to students in Sierra Leone, supported robotics and computer access in Africa, helped provide computers to communities in Nigeria, and supported STEM education in rural schools in Sri Lanka.

Donations to this fundraiser help Nova Youth Robotics continue its nonprofit mission while supporting the Electronovas and other STEM activities under NYR. Funds will help cover robotics equipment, competition costs, educational programs, outreach supplies, travel, and other costs needed to give students these opportunities.
