My name is Leona, based in the UK, and I’m fundraising for a young woman named Nour, a mother of two, who is living through unimaginable conditions in Gaza.

Nour is part of the Samouni family — a family that suffered one of the most devastating losses during the 2009 attacks on Gaza (you can Google “Samouni family” to learn more). I met some of the Samouni children 15 years ago, and their story has stayed with me ever since.

Nour is now 25. Her house has been bombed. She has two small children and almost nothing left. We’ve been in daily contact via Messenger, and she has shown me — through video and messages — the conditions they’re living in. She has shared her shame about how poor she looks, but I see her courage, her strength, and her love for her family.

She needs help — urgently — and this is one very real, direct way you can make a difference.

She needs food, water, nappies, basic medicine, and the means to find some safety. There’s little to no aid getting in. Most things are only available now on the black market — and only to those who have money.

I will be wiring all the money raised directly to Nour (via MoneyGram or Western Union). A transfer fee will be deducted by them, but everything else will go straight to her so she can buy what her family needs to survive.

I’ll keep updating you here, and I will stay in touch with Nour throughout. This isn’t just a number — she’s a real person, a young mum, with a history that deserves to be known and a future that still matters.
