Some of you may have seen this truck in our community. I want to introduce it, so you understand what it is and what we are doing. This is “The SNip Ship” it’s is a 36’ Wells Cargo trailer and a 1999 truck with only 13,000 miles and it was donated to Northwest Spay & Neuter by Crockett Interstate, T&M Towing and Hazmat One of Eugene Oregon, therefore it still says Crockett Interstate on the doors though soon will say Powered by Crockett Interstate and the DOT numbers will be removed because it’s not a for hire vehicle or used commercially. Les Schwab graciously put 6 new tires on the trailer thru their Tires for a Purpose campaign, Pacific Cove Humane Society donated $75,000 toward the surgical equipment needed to turn this vehicle into a mobile spay, neuter, and wellness trailer to service the community in Linn, Benton, Clatsop, Lincoln, Coos, Curry and other areas who call upon its services. It is designed to serve rescues, shelters and the public with affordable services and I mean affordable services. The rescues are so excited to have this trailer up and going, hence the donation from Pacific Cove Humane. We have been working on this trailer almost every night for the last two weeks cleaning walls, removing the previous shelving and beds that were built in and getting ready to replace walls and lighting before sending to Coos Bay to a contractor to install new lighting, plumbing, divider walls and cabinets. We are on a super fixed budget being we are an all-donation organization and funded solely on “community support.” We would love your support so we can continue working on this and get it on the road as quick as we can. To wrap it is more than $12,000 and we just can’t spend that type of money, I’m sorry it is currently unidentifiable. I did however just today spent time trying to design some graphics. If anyone has a way to vinyl print our logo cost effectively, we would love a lead. Here’s the current truck and trailer, the inspiration for the inside and idea for outside graphics. Also an awesome fact, since December we have helped spay/neuter more than 450 dogs and cats, that is 90 a month and more than any nonprofit organization here in Linn and Benton County. We are working really hard to do good things for anyone who needs us. Please support this truck and trailer so we can increase that number to 5,000 a month. Items we have already are 3 surgery lights, all dog kennels and cat kennels plus extras we will be looking to pass along to others and our savings too, an autoclave, stretcher, mayo stand, brand new walk on dog scale, cat scale, wet table with faucet and muzzles. We are in process of ordering anesthesia machines, scrub sink, surgery tables, instruments and the first month's consumables. We still need to finish the inside of the trailer with proper overhead lighting, polish and seal the diamond plate floors, put up new main wall panels as the ones currently installed have a lot of holes in them from previous screws and such, purchase and plumb in a water tank to serve the wet table and scrub sink. And once all the surgical items are installed and walls up, we will need to purchase and install the cabinets we will most likely order from c-tech or a similar modular mobile cabinet application. We have come so far in such a short period of time, but have so much farther to go and need your help to finish this. Please consider donating to Northwest Spay & Neuter and help us get this truck and trailer on the road to changing lives 4 paws at a time.
