Support Northside Families Affected by ICE Raid

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HELPING REACH OUR GOAL!

I have turned off donations on this request.
*********

On the morning of Tuesday, December 9, a family in the Willard Hay Neighborhood was raided by ICE. This is the same ICE action where our neighbor Sue Tincher was arrested while acting as an observer. (https://www.mprnews.org/story/2025/12/09/federal-agents-arrest-citizen-observer-watching-ice-north-minneapolis)

Three men we taken and are now incarcerated far from Hennepin County. Left behind are two of their wives, an aunt, and multiple children. The families are trying to get legal assistance arranged but are left in a tough spot. Because of fear that ICE will arrest more adults, they are not going to work ... and rent is coming due soon.

We want to help them stay housed and safe. The families need $1800 for rent by the first of January. I'd like to raise at least $5000, to give them a second month float plus money for groceries and for the paid app that allows them to communicate with their family members in jail. Please help if you can. Any amount makes a difference.

My name is Maggie Koerth. I'm a Northsider and I've helped raise money for neighbors in the Old Highland neighborhood affected by fire and housing struggles in the past. I'm happy to answer questions as I can, while maintaining the families' privacy.

Please consider giving. Any amount helps.
