Support North Carolina's Disaster Victims
Donation protected
My name is Ryan Spencer and I have joined the relief efforts in North Carolina to help the victims of the natural disasters that engulfed North Carolina in September 2024. I am from Long Island New York and we are looking for donors in the community to help support rebuilding and simply just staying alive for these people.
I’m not sure why nobody knows about what is going on in North Carolina, but entire towns and neighborhoods with people in them were completely washed away by 160 mph waters, mudslides, and flash flooding. These communities lived right on the rivers. Thousands and thousands of people. The actual data and intelligence that we have received actually places the loss of life at upwards of 5,000. We have amazing volunteer efforts, but we need more. There are still entire parts of the mountains that have not even been accessed because the roads were washed away, and the number of trees that came down during the mudslides after the hurricane have literally isolated hundreds, if not thousands, of people for the last five weeks. These people don’t have internet, power, probably a lot of places running water, or really any way of getting out from where they are. As most of you know, I’m very rarely on here being serious. The things that I’ve seen in the last week, some of the things I don’t even wanna repeat, some of them I never wanna think about again.
They are conducting rescue missions daily by slapping healthcare professionals, first responders, or just the good ole boys and girls on quads and going up into the mountains to check out the communities for health checks, death checks, and for all-out recon in order to gather the information that we need to bring these people to safety.
We have a retreat on a farm where volunteers can stay free of charge in heated yurts and heated tents, or you can bring your campers if you have them. There’s also a lot of tent camping. There’s access to showers, supplies, and many places in the areas are providing three meals a day, but for the most part, we’ve all just been buying food and cooking it on the grill or eating in town at the small family businesses and restaurants to inject money into the economy. Our supply hub has been provided by the Cajun Navy and some local volunteers.
The people who live in these mountains all over Appalachia are not the type of people to ask for help. It’s gotten virtually zero media coverage, and a lot of the media coverage that has been put out there is absolutely false.
We have several supply hubs located in the devastated areas that are able to be accessed, and there is plenty of work to get done. We also have response teams that set out every day to get these supplies directly into the hands of these people affected.
These people just lost every single thing they’ve ever owned, and they’ve also lost a lot of their families. The population here has been reduced significantly, and suicide is also on the rise.
We are looking to provide direct cash injections into the economy throughout the devastated areas of North Carolina by putting money directly into the hands of business owners and locals who lost everything, who have not received financial assistance. In order for their economy not to crumble, they need cash.
We are also looking to fund several out-of-state donation centers or storage units in order to accept mass donations for supply and necessity items.
