Support Norris in Her New Chapter

Norris Spences taught children for almost 40 years and is beloved friend to many story tellers and others. I wanted to give you all an update on Norris and put out an idea on her behalf. She moved into a residential care setting on Sunday and while getting her there became quite complicated, she seems willing to get settled into this next phase of her life. It will be an enormous adjustment for her because she’s lived independently for most of her 88 years. There’s still a lot to be done to help her get settled in and to resolve her apartment, and many of you have asked what you can do.

As you know, being a teacher was not the most lucrative profession, and Norris is in a situation right now where she’s having to pay for the rent on her apartment through June and the fee at the new place where she’s living, along with some hospital charges. I thought if we could set up a GoFundMe account on her behalf, it might alleviate some of this stress.

Your visits, phone calls, and Zoom meetings are so important and wonderful, and if you are able to make a monetary donation for this initial period, that would help as well. Nevertheless, the communication with Norris is the most important thing.
